Some of you may not know.. but with this forum, comes a very big problem. It is a time lapse in communication. It is possibly never seeing a reply that could have really helped you out. It could be you becoming upset because over this miscommunication.

What it is, is not making your post by clicking "reply to this post" on the LAST poster of the thread.

If you click "reply to this post" to someone early on, it posts directly after them. If our message pertains to not only that person, but someone else too, that someone else may never see that post. Especially if it is a longer thread.

Now if you feel it is okay to do this, I won't hold it against you.. but realize that asynychronization is a very not cool thing. Would you read a book if the pages were not in order? Neither would I.

Now.. if you want to *really* reply to someone's post, and make it more specific and make it look like you really are posting to them, you can do what i've done in the past, and what a few people do, and quote what they said that you want to reply to.

You see because with this scenario, it is very possible for people to become upset. Someone replies to you, but it's in the wrong place. It's a funny, joking post. THEN someone else posts, and it's directly under your post. This person who just posted under you, is furthering the initial persons joke. Now there is a possible victim depending on how he takes this.

So basically.. If any of you are in to:

-Only click "reply to this post" at the very bottom of the threads. On the *last* poster.

So if anyone is interested in keeping this forum confusion-free,

say:

Aye

(And if you want to add some comments, please space it down a few spaces after Aye)

Thank you all, I hope this can turn out to be a positive and unifying thing.

OK, excuse me for being a little slow on the uptake, but lets see if I get this straight: If I want to reply to a persons post, but not specifically to him, I post at the very bottom; if, however, I want to reply directly to the poster in question, I hit "Reply to Post" on his. OK, if I've got this right so far, what would then happen if I wanted to reply to the original post directly but in such a way that only my dog could read it? Hit "Reply to Post" and then whack my dog with a printout of the original post?
Just lookin' for some direction.

Clarification: I do not in any way advocate the "whacking" of any dog, especially my own; she may be a small looking Boston Terrier, but she'll rip out your spleen before you can hit "Reply to Post"

I am posting this to YM (Young Max) even though it's under (Shit, I forgot who's post this was already).

So now can I be offically posting to yours (Max) or is it to both of you?

But now I'm not even sure who I'm posting to/with/for/by.

And shut up about my grandma.

I hope this is in the right place, cause I hope everyone sees it.

Lets save brain cells, eliminate cheat sheets, and just upgrade the forum software. That way we can "quote" a previous person when we are specifically responding to that person's question or issue.

Just a shove in some direction.

I just watch the main board(sorted chronilogically) at lma homepage. AND, frequently check all my posts for replies I may have missed. That's how I keep up.

I find the GD page, which is sorted by topic, difficult to follow.

That's what I do too high flow, and tick the box that says send me an email if someone replies to my post - works well enough for me.

I'm quite disappointed that my thread failed to bring even somewhat of an awareness. Perhaps I worded it wrong..
